Like many people I have heard the pro’s and con’s of buying and eating organic food. Hell, until I was about 18 I thought all fruit and veg would be organic! (little did I know!). Now i’m just putting this out there but I imagine a lot of the health problems such as cancer must be related to what we eat, combined with specific lifestyles of course.
I made a point of buying just organic around 3 years ago and was just staggered by the price! A chicken was a real treat as it cost well over £10.00 rather than your supermarket bargain of £2.99. All organic food costs a lot, most people accept this, but for me I had a hard time understanding why exactly? They use no pestisides on crops, thats one less expence..no? I do understand that because the food is organic there might be some losses in crops to pests etc.
The taste of organic food so much better, it’s that simple. Your eggs will be richer, your meat more succulent and your fruit sweeter. So it really comes down to what can you afford, If I could I would eat organic every day but until the price reduces this won’t be realistic for me and I imagine many more people.
